Summer 2020
On Memorial Day weekend Governor Cuomo in his daily address announced that campgroundsin New York State could open! So, Kingswood will open June 26th as planned, barring anysetback in the reopening process. The campground will operate a bit differently this summer.
Here are a few of the changes you should expect: You can take the ice cream maker to your site to make some yourselves, but there will be no pot-luck dinner. The playground will be closed to start the summer, but we will have chickens at camp and you can help collect eggs. Exciting new programs are planned, but the programs will be limited to 10 people and you should sign-up to be assured a spot! On Fridays there will be a sewing program and you can make your own mask. Know that masks will be required in indoor spaces such as the barn and bathhouse. You can still borrow equipment (games, pie irons, Dutch ovens, ice cream maker, books…) and use it at your site. Just don’t put it back when you are finished. Instead return it to the return box where it will rest for 3 days and then be put back to be borrowed again. Row boats, canoes and kayaks can still be used for free. Just please use hand sanitizer before and after using the equipment. As you can see, there is plenty to do while you are social distancing at Kingswood!
Two weeks before your reservation date you will receive an email asking you for payment (if you have not paid yet), asking you for an email address & phone number for every camper over 18 (not just the person who registered) and providing you with Kingswood Summer 2020 protocols.
Camp is almost full for the first 10 days but there are still sites available for the first two weekends. After that, you can have more flexibility in site preferences. Book now to social distance at Kingswood in 2020!
