What’s a typical day like at Kingswood? That depends — it’s up to you! Chose to make your day as busy or as quiet as you’d like.
2020 WEEKLY SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
All activities will require:
- Following the current social distancing guidelines of 6 ft.
- Wearing face masks (ages 3+)
- Frequent handwashing/hand sanitizer
- Limit of 10 participants for each program
We love children, but please plan to accompany children to all programs.
Morning Watch (Daily): 7:00 a.m. Greet the gift of the new day & tend your inner garden with devotions and prayer. Outdoor Chapel.
*NEW* Down on the Farm: Return to Kingswood’s roots with this pilot program. Release your inner farmer – meet friendly chickens and help tend a mini container garden! Offered Mon., Tues., Wed. & Fri.
9 a.m. Start at the barn. Morning chicken care. Garden: pull a weed, water if needed, talk to the plants.
6:30 p.m. Evening chicken care.
Swimming (Daily): 1:00–5:00 p.m. Weather permitting & only when lifeguard is on duty.
Sundays: 10 a.m. Informal worship. Outdoor Chapel (Upper Barn in case of rain).
Sign up for the following in the lower level of the barn:
Mondays: 10 a.m.–Noon. On-site Insights. Improve your campfire cooking skills. Learn to use pie irons, Dutch ovens, and do foil cooking. Borrow the equipment and make a meal at your site (recipes & list of ingredients to bring from home will be provided). Tent & Trailer.
Tuesdays: 10 a.m.–Noon. Nature’s Garden Helpers & Meet-n-Greet. Put on your ‘garden hat’ (aka thinking cap) and be ready to answer, ‘Who tends God’s garden?’ Then embark on a ‘Meet and Greet’ tour with some of the neighboring trees. Receive a memento from a Kingswood tree. Craft Area.
Manager’s Potluck. Cancelled for this year. You can still make ice cream at your site (recipe & list of ingredients to bring from home will be provided).
Wednesdays: 10 a.m. Creation Beads. Most cultures and religions use strings of beads for prayer and meditation. The Genesis creation story will guide us in making our string of beads. Learn how you might use your completed bead creation.
Thursdays: 10 a.m.–Noon. Hike day! Guided hike to some part of the 766-acre site, led by various Kingswood friends. See barn display for details.
7 p.m. Hey! Ride. A Kingswood family tradition. See Saturday’s description.
Fridays: 10 a.m. Stone Ministry – Affirm your faith and commemorate or celebrate a person or life event. Select your special stone and have it cemented into this permanent structure. See the Stone Ministry brochure for details. Stone Ministry site.
*NEW* 10 a.m. Be Still and Sew: Sewing can be a calming and centering experience. Leave everything behind and join us for a destressing time. No experience necessary. All ages welcome. Barn.
7–9 p.m. Old tyme Friday Night Social at the barn. Cancelled for this year.

Saturdays: (You may split your time between the two morning programs.)
9:30–11:30 a.m. or 2:00–3:30 p.m. Stone Ministry: See Friday description.
10 a.m.–Noon. Decoupage Planters & Vases: Design your own Kingswood planter or vase & plant herbs or pick wildflowers. Craft Area.
5 and/or 7 p.m. Hey! Ride: Harry (our 1953 Ferguson tractor), chugs off from the parking lot below the farmhouse over camp roads and through the woods & fields for an old-fashioned ride. Limit 10 per ride.
8 p.m. Campfire at the tepee by the lake. Fireside activities and s’mores.
Every night – Quiet Hours begin at 10 p.m. Please be courteous to other campers.
