2024 Activities Schedule

Morning Watch: Greet the gift of the new day & tend to your inner garden with devotions and prayer.   D.I.Y. worship materials are in the cabinet at the Outdoor Chapel.

Prayer Trail: Walk our new prayer trail that begins near the waterfront shed and goes part of the way around the lake. Do a station or two a day during your stay or spend a morning completing all five of the stations.

Labyrinth: Walk our Labyrinth which is just up the hill from the craft area. There is a box of materials near its entrance to help guide your experience.

Swimming Daily: 1:00-5:00 pm Weather permitting and only when a lifeguard or beach attendant is on duty.

Canoeing, Boating & Kayaking: 7:00 am- dusk; adhere to all guidelines posted

Camp Store & Ice Cream: Open upon your request to the camp managers or program director.  

Mondays:10:30 am- 12:30ish On-site Insights  A workshop to improve your campfire cooking skills! All skills and abilities are welcomed! Location varies. Please sign up in advance in the barn.

Tuesdays: 10 am- noon Turtle Tutorial Learn more about turtles found in and around Hathaway Pond. Create your own turtle with air dry clay that can be painted later in the week.

6 pm- Manager’s Pot Luck Supper A Kingswood fellowship tradition. Sign up at the barn and tell us what dish you’ll be bringing and the number of people attending.

6:45 pm- Hand-Cranked Ice Cream Making and eating at the barn! Delicious! You’re welcome even if you’re not at the potluck. Indicate your plans on the potluck sign up.

Wednesdays: 10 am- noon Macrame and God’s Eye Create a plant hanger using cord and knots or create a variation of the Mexican craft “ojo de dios”, God’s eye,using sticks and yarn.

Thursdays:10 am Hike Day! Lace up those boots and put on that bug spray. We’ll provide a guided hike on a part of our 766 acre site, led by various Kingwood friends! More information located on the bulletin boards around camp. Sign up at the barn!

Fridays: 10 am- Fun with Fleece Join in the fun and fellowship of creating “no sew” blankets this year by cutting fleece and knotting. These will be donated to people in need.

10 am- Stone Ministry Join others at the site to affirm your faith and commemorate or celebrate a person or a life event. Select your special stone and cement it into this permanent structure. See the Stone Ministry brochure for more information. Sign up at the barn! No “hey ride”.

Dusk-Vespers at Stone Ministry (Exact time of program will be posted each week in the barn) Vespers or evening prayer is an opportunity to wind down at the end of the day and prepare for a good night’s sleep.  Gather in the Stone Ministry chapel, rain or shine for music, inspirational readings and prayer followed by time for silent reflection.  

Saturdays: (You may split your time between the morning programs.)

9:30 – 11:30 am- Stone Ministry  (See Friday 10 am for more details. However, just walk in.  No sign up necessary.)

10 am- noon Bleached T-Shirt Stenciling Bring your colored T-Shirt to the craft area and use stencils to make it a new creation by applying watered down bleach.

2 – 3:30 pm- Stone Ministry  (See Friday 10 am for more details. Sign up at the barn! No “hey ride”.)

8 p.m. – Campfire at the teepee by the lake. Come join in company, songs, stories, games and of course, s’mores!!

Sundays 10 a.m. – Informal worship at the chapel. In case of rain, the service is held in the craft area.
